Mourinho’s Remarks Over Players Form Damaging – Luis

Former Chelsea defender Filipe Luis claims Jose Mourinho’s comments to the media can have a damaging effect on some players.
Mourinho, who has led the Blues to their worst start to a season for 37 years, has publicly criticised several members of his first-team sqad this campaign, including Eden Hazard and Nemanja Matic.
Luis joined Chelsea from Atletico Madrid for £18m last summer, but failed to command a regular first-team place and was allowed to re-join the Spanish side in July.
“He has his way of talking to the press, especially when the team loses, which can sometimes be damaging to certain players. Some players benefit from criticism but for others, they don’t,” Luis said.
“Sometimes he’s right and sometimes he’s not. Sometimes people think what he says is absurd and sometimes they agree with him. It’s the way he is and the way he works – I see it as normal.
“I didn’t have the chance to play in the first match of the league season and the opportunity to play the first game is key for players at a new club. That made everything more difficult.”
